The Grand Traverse Democrats will be hosting a formal candidate training class on Saturday, March 16 at the IBEW Local 498 Headquarters in Traverse City, MI. The class will be presented by the Great Lakes Political Academy staff for candidates and campaign staff.

About the event
Our Becoming a LEADer candidate training will be offered virtually thorough early 2024 to make it accessible to candidates through Michigan. Whether you’re considering running for school board, a city office, county position, or even the state legislature, this campaign 101 style training will give you the tools you need to run a successful campaign.

All trainings run from 10 am - 2 pm. Candidates accepted into the training will be notified by GLPA staff via email. All virtual trainings will be held via zoom. Exact location of in-person trainings will be provided. There is no hybrid option for in person trainings.
As a 501(c)4, GLPA-LEAD is required to charge for candidate trainings. The training fee for our Becoming a LEADer series is $25. If cost is a barrier, please let us know as there are scholarship opportunities available.
